Oh boy we have been busy the past couple of weeks!

Alexander has started kindergarden, the Oppna Forskolan visited the Swedish School last week, we have found a new nanny for Alexander (Larissa is now taking care of Victor), Victor has got a tooth and it's been a lot at work!

Last week, Amila and her son Anton came to play with us at the Oppna forskolan and we had a really nice time. Amila and Anton have just recently moved to Moscow - welcome and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!

Summer is coming to an end, schools are starting next week and so does the Oppna forskolan!

We are welcoming new and old(er) babies & parents as ususal on Thursdays.

Same day - new time: from now you are welcome between 10-13.

Where: Hotel Katerina City, apartment 402, 4th floor (no elevator!)

When: 10:00 to 13:00 every Thursday except last Thursday every month.

Last Thursday every month, we have been invited to the Swedish School to participate in their activities. Time is the same: 10-13 and the dates are: 29.09, 27.10 and 24.11.

Dear All,

This week Katerina had to leave for Sweden to deal with some visa practicalities for her children. In other words, Öppna Förskolan at Katerina City Hotel, will take place next week instead, Thursday May 19.

However, those of you that still want to meet up tomorrow, Thursday May 12, Shanti and I are planning to go for a 3-hour walk (if the weather is good) and you are very welcome to join us. We leave our apartment (close to Mayakovskaya metro station) at 2 pm.

Öppna förskolan will take place on Thursday, May 5, this week (at 11-15). We meet at my place (near Mayakovskaya metro) at 11-ó clock to play/sing songs for about an hour. Dear All,

Next Öppna förskolan gathering, April 7, 10.00-13.00 (!), will take place at the Swedish School in Moscow (Svenska Skolan i Mosvka, http://www.ssim.nu/), Leninskij Prospekt 78A. We will be hosted by Karolina Borg, who has kindly offered to provide us with some "fika" (coffee and snacks) during our visit.

Regarding lunch, however, we will organize something upon arrival. We might order take-away from a restaurant nearby, or take a walk to a restaurant after our visit (depending on if people bring their strollers or not).

Please tell me before Monday noon (April 4), if you will be joining us to Svenska skolan.

Oppna forskolan at my place is cancelled this week due to Alexander being sick (nothing serious but don't want to contaminate anyone).

Jenny Westring & Laura Carlborg are meeting at the Ogo Gorod Cafe from 11:00 tomorrow, Thursday 3 March. Let Jenny know if you are coming as well 8 985 444 38 83.

Read here about the cafe on the entrance floor. The metro station for Ogo Gorod is Tulskaya.

From next week I will be on maternity leave and count on being back in the middle of May.

A spontanious decision yesterday evening - I am going to London with Carl this week (he is there on business) - meaning no Oppna forskolan this week.

A warm recomendation to visit Ogo Gorod and their activities:

For 0-1 year olds

Multicolored palms at 13:30 and at 15:30

For 1-2 year olds

Toddlers 10:00

Two hours Developing program 17:00

Music Box 10:00 and at 13:00

We were there this Saturday (Toddlers) and Sunday (Music box) and the organisation is great! Alexander loved it.

What an adventure...

The Oppna forskolan yesterday turned out to be different from usual - thats for sure!

Super super fun that so many came - Lina, Maja, Anna all with kids and even dad Jorgen! Anja and Alexandra came with their cute girls and Alexandra brought a fantastic cake :)

We sang for a little bit (Imse Vimse, Lilla Snigel, En liten Bat and Tre pepparkaksgubbar - Christmas songs are so cute), and then went down to the pool. At this point Alexander got some kind of allergic reaction and I had to rush off to the hospital with him, he got a shot and was feeling as happy as ever! Scary but I guess part of growing up.

Hope next week will be without similar adventures, but then again, all this is just part of our lifes with kids :)

Hope you all will have a nice weekend - tomorrow we will be having Lunch at the Upside Down Cake Company and skating on the Red Square! (read about this on the hotel blogwww.katerinahotels.wordpress.com )

On Sunday we are planning a trip to Ogo Gorod - at 10:00 they have a programs for kids in groups 0-1 years and 1-3 years. Well worth a visit!

The first Oppna forskolan for this year (tomorrow 11-15) promises to be a great play day, we have three new moms (and one dad!) + 4 kids as well as Anja with Edith and Sasha with Alina coming!

And it looks like we will swim in the pool as well - great to spend some time in the warm water on cold days like this.

So look forward to tomorrow - woho!

Dear friends,

I very much look forward to Thursday – and Alexander is too!

This Thursday we meet 11:00 - 15:00. Let’s see that works.

I glad to announce that we have two new mothers + kids: Anna & Laura will come with their daughters, 10 months and 2 years! And Anja is coming with her cute Edith

The directions to the hotel can be found here.

When you enter the lobby, tell reception that you are going to apartment 402. They will show you the way and open the door.

Climb all the way up to the 4^th floor (there is no elevator) and ring the bell on apartment 402.

You can leave you strollers etc in the luggage room – just tell the receptionist :)

Today Kristine (who is giving birth in January) and Elena with Rickard came to visit! Thank you for the chocolade and for the gingerbread cookies :)

Alexander was happy to see Rickard as always - he is the cool older guy. I had made Janssons frestelse and Saffransbullar which we had for lunch.

Countdown has begun before Christmas and New Year. Busy days at work and at home, presents, travel plans, parties and food, lots of Christmas food!

I love Jansons frestelse and of course Lussekatter - this year’s favorite is with mandelmassa (almond stuff) - so this will be served on this week’s Christmas themed Öppna förskolan.

Last week Anja & Edith, Lina & Sam and Alexandra & Alina visit the Oppna forskolan.

We had a lot of fun playing, singing some songs and also Alexander got birthday presents!

Thank you Anja & Edith, Lina & Sam so much for the gourgeous railroad and the racer car :)

And thank you Alexandra for bringing the delicious eclairs -yum yum!

Summary of the tips for a baby with a cold:

1. Use baby nose drops (Nezeril, Otrivin etc)

2. Use Alvedon /paracetamol to relieve pain & fever.

3. Put a pillow or a few books under the mattress of your child - to make breathing easier.

Have patience - what should come out - will come out :)

The Oppna forskolan tomorrow is on as usual - but we are testing a new time: come between 12:00 and 15:00.

I have got feedback that it suits better with the traffic and with the morning naps - let's try!

Meetup tomorrow and Swedish School!

Dear Friends,

I am very much looking forward to the meetup tomorrow. Anja is coming with her cute Edith and they are bringing new friends: Lina and Sam (4 months)! Yay!

Suggested topic of discussion for tomorrow is: "Our favorite food".

And bring your swim wear if we should feel like going for a swim :)

Also - last week I met with Madeleine Brink, Administrator at the Swedish School and Karolina Borg, Preschool Director from the Swedish School in Moscow.

Today they are running a very popular kindergarden open for kids from 3 years. However they are considering opening from 2 years! Which can be very interesting for us. There are two dates suggested for an open house where we can get a chance to visit the school: 14 October (Thursday) and 23 oct (Saturday).

Swedish School in Moscow

Swedish School in Moscow follow the Swedish curriculum and is run by a Board of involved parents with the head teacher as educational leader.

The school is located in a green space next to the Leninsky Prospekt in southwest Moscow. It offers Scandinavian education in safe and familiar surroundings.

We are in the planning stage of, if there is an interest, developing our business with a small group for children between 2 and 3 years, to complement our existing preschool for 3-5 year olds.

So we would like to connect with those who have children at that age to get help to design operations.

Saturday Swenur meeting!

This Saturday Elena, Christian & Martha as well as Ulf, Sasha &Alina came by! My father Alexander gave us some expert tips - he has got more kids by himself than all of us together after all :)

We had a lot of fun singing songs, playing and even went for a premiere swim in the pool.

Today Lena and her handsome little son Robbie came for a visit.

Alexander was very impressed by Robbie and very interested in him. Robbie was climbing on the toys and Alexander tried to catch up.

While they were playing with the cars and toys Alexander got tired and went to sleep :)

Oppna forskolan had our first meeting yesterday, Elena and her cute Martha came over. Have a look at the pictures in the post below.

September 2 meeting - the pictures.

For the first meeting Elena Rupf and her cute daughter came.

We played, discussed routines, took some photos, had some snacks and even went for a walk.

For those interested, Marthas and Alexanders routines look pretty much the same:

Wake up 07:00 - 07:30

Nap time during the day twice: around 09 -10:00 and 14:00.

Martha goes to bed around 20:00 While Alexander is a bit of a night owl - goes to bed around 22:00

Both eat once during the night.

All kids and parents with a relation to Sweden are welcome this Thursday for the first Swedish Open Nursery this fall!

As usual we will sing, play and have something to eat.

I also suggest a topic to discuss: "Our daily routine".

Share what your days look like - when you get up, have many naps you have during the day etc This will help us to get a better understanding of each others daily life (and maybe slightly amend our meeting time?).
